I think it's clear that I'm not a truck guy, but now that I have a real job I'm going to be in the market for a new(er) car than what I have. Now, I need some feedback, because this is the car I'm looking at, targeting a Summer purchase, depending on how my finances look.
Cramer, Pfaff, Klaus, Mikey, Chad, Booty, etc... all you guys have probably heard something about these cars and I would appreciate any info you have...seriously! I'll listen! Good or bad, I need some info...
It's still a LONG way off, as I have other priorities such as getting a place. But I think that's what I'm focusing on.
Yes, Klaus I will be looking at used, and yes Chad I was definitely going with the action package. But if I can afford it (damn, everything rests on that!) I'd like to build it on the website and have it shipped here. I did a whole build online, totally suped up and it was under $25k...
So my payments would be $500 for the next 72 years...
Thanks for the feedback guys, and don't worry, I'm avoiding Ford...
Killer AWD sports car, of course, you could go for the A6 audi....
after putting this up there, I guess that I should add some validation to the reason to go with a subaru...
how about two..
Tim and I have each owned 4wd wagons and next to only my land cruisers, they stood up to VERY ABUSIVE DRIVING, EVERY DAY, ALL THE TIME. I cannot think of a vehicle that I have beat to within an inch of its life, EVERY DAY, EVERY TIME I DROVE IT, and had it still be around. Ask tim about the many adventures in subaru wagons and brats. It amazed me then and still does today, that I lived through many of the things that we did with those cars, and that those vehicles were able to withstand the continual beatings...
someday I will own another!

My sister had one of the high end Audi's a few years ago. BIGGEST fucking lemon I've ever come across. Electrical system fritzed out about every other month for a year, and the guys at audi could never fix it.......

After all the problems people have had with electrical and other miscillanious stuff on audis and VWs. I would be very hesitant to buy one. Not to put down a car that 3-4 of my friends own, but when so many little things go wrong on a 1-2 year old car with less that 30k milles on it, one begins to wonder what the mfg's major malfunction is when it comes to the details. Electrical problems with windows, locks dash gauges, radios, etc. Problems with tires holding air in sub 30F temps due to the alloys. Sure they have nice dependable motors but with all the other little things i would get pissed in a hurry.

I may have to eat a little crow, as I told my brother I might be looking at getting a Celica and he said, "Why not go for that Subaru WRX?" To which I replied, "Oh yeah, and then I'll start smoking cock for a living..." Oops...
That'll teach me to research before ripping on vehicles. AWD, power, and you can drive the hell out of it? Sounds good...hmmmm the plot thickens.
You know the funniest thing about this? I'll probably still be driving the Sunfire in 8 months going, "Man, I should get around to buying a new car soon..."

Its funny that europeans can build such nice shit, but have such a huge problems with electrical issues in many vehicles. It is not just VW or Audi, I really dont think that electrical engineering is a strong suit of those people. The british have not been able to wire a vehicle to last until it gets off the lot...positive ground??? what the fuck is with that?? I know that there is not a manufacture that is exempt from things like this, and that " shit happens ", but they really seem to have a harder time making electrical shit that works, let alone last for an extended period of time..
