Holy fuckin shit!

I went to work today! Yee haw! I walked into the IT department and saw this beautiful workstation all set up, 19" flat screen monitor, IBM Thinkpad with docking bay, Compaq iPaq linked into the computer, a Linksys (I think) switch that allows the user to switch between the laptop and the desktop system with just a button push, optical mouse, external CDRW, T1 line (okay I didn't actually see that), COMFORTABLE CHAIR, etc etc.

I said to my fellow IT teammate, "Wow! Now that's a workstation! Who works there?" to which she replied, "You do." I had a siezure and fell over. After 20 minutes I regained consciousness and exclaimed, "I like Cheese!"

My excitement level increased as I soon discovered that I'm encouraged to take the laptop and iPaq home with me, as that's the only way to justify the cost of having them. I was further impressed when I found out that they'd be providing me with a cell phone (or paying my personal bill) as I'd be on call once every 5 weeks. In addition to that they will pay for me to have high speed internet access in my house, as I'll need to remotely dial-in during my on-call week.

Holy shit! And they pay me a shitload of money too!!!!!

(Disclaimer: "Shitload of money" in Ericspeak is any money at all right now. )

Fuckin a, I am a happy little monkey.

Very soon, I will actually know what I'm doing at this job.

P.S. Not to mention the fact that while the IT manager was taking me to lunch my IT partner (married female) told me that about 10 ladies came up to ask if I was single! Now, they may not be fat or slutty, but I'm sure 1 or 2 will do. Bwah ha ha!
