I would like to be the first to concede my earlier statements regarding Mondale's shoo-in.

Let's all hope that Coleman will do what he wants to do, but he will never have the power to change the "tone" of the Senate.

Here are the official results:

Very interesting to look at your precinct and see how people in your neighborhood voted.

Very close race - expect lawsuits [Frown]

Here we go

DFL won't rule out legal challenge to Senate results

Associated Press

Published Nov. 7, 2002 DFL08

The DFL party plans to decide by Friday whether it will legally challenge any election results in the Minnesota Senate race.

DFL attorney Alan Weinblatt says the party is keeping watch to see if there are any significant issues concerning absentee ballots. But Weinblatt says there's no use doing any embarrassing or futile acts.

Republican Norm Coleman beat Democrat Walter Mondale by over 50,000 votes with almost all of the precincts reporting. Mondale conceded the election to Coleman on Wednesday morning.

Republican party attorney Tony Trimble says the wide gap is a no-go for legal challenges.

University of Minnesota law professor Guy-Uriel Charles also says the election is fairly close to being over.
