Yep, it was a lot worse than described too. I was the first to arrive and there were only 5 of us there for the first few minutes. The fight did in fact start inside a bar. It was inside the new Tabu bar which is the old South Beach bar and this bar had at least 500 to 600 people inside. The fight then spilled out onto the street where there were about 500 more people just hanging out. There was more like 1200 to 1400 people total and they had total control for quite a while. This shit always gets downplayed in the reports for political reasons. There were at least 100 bottles thrown at us over about 45 minutes and the croud had total control of about 1 1/2 square blocks. There were also shots fired from the croud at least once ank likely twice but as far as we knew nobody was hit. It was in fact a RIOT. Our administration will never call ANYTHING A RIOT. And there was one guy arrested for Felony RIOT too.
Those are the kind of nights when we earn two months worth of paychecks!!

Oh no I saw the game. This didn't even start until about 01:45 am. As far as I know this morning there wasn't any cops hurt too bad. But there were soo many cops there from all over the city that I really dont know. At one point dispatch even started contacting other agencies to send squads to help us out. That's the first time I ever heard that happen in over 6 years on the job.
On a side note: Several cops, including me heard a bunch of people in the mob say things like, "you wait till the Timberwolves win it all, this ain't shit."
