You guys probably haven't enjoy 1st Ave as much as I did when I lived in MN. I literally saw dozens of underage shows there. Many of bands before they "made it." I've never liked stadium shows, the quality of the music just sucks in a big metal barn... I cant even list all the great bands I saw there, none of them put on bad shows really, and many I believe I saw the best they had to offer in getting to see them in a small club... That's kinda sad...
I saw tons of bands there when I was growing up (Offspring, Weezer...more...), and going there after bar close was always entertaining on a Saturday night...

From my understanding it will be back in operation soon. There was a lawsuit from the two previous managers who are now the owners of the building. Sounds like they will re-open soon under new name.

They have shit for concerts there now because they arent sponsored by clear channel. All the good concerts are at the quest now.

I heard that they plan to reopen first ave on Friday with Gwar being their first concert under the reopening.
