Grrr.

Unfortunately, I don't own any guns.

Even if I did, jail is boring, too.

I COULD go help my brother strip wallpaper off the walls of his new house.

Or not.

I've already got almost $500 in parts into his truck.

He will be paying me back.

POS 3/4-ton 5.9L V-8 gas Dodge Ram.

Blew a power steering seal at 38,500 on a 36,000 warranty.

Stupid brother let the dealer tell him "So sorry, out of warranty."

Then he let it go dry.

When he finally called me to help fix it, the pulley was eating into the mounting bracket because the bearings on the pump were so shot.

Did you know that Dodge Ram power steering pumps have metric-headed fittings?

Except for the pressure valve and the bolts holding it on.

Those are SAE.

Flange fitting was so stuck I had to take the pump out and use a blue-tipped wrench to get it loose.

Bent the reservoir getting it on the new pump.

Found out today that it still leaks (replaced the pump maybe Wednesday?)

Today is when I found that the steering box was what blew a seal.

Hope the dork keeps enough fluid in it to keep the new pump from frying.

A reman P/S gearbox is $250 for that truck, plus a $200 core charge.

Going to have to find new O-rings for the fittings, too.

Whee.

Truck is such a POS it got a new engine under warranty.

Blew a left rear axle seal at about 40,000.

Has 41,000 on it now, bet he hasn't checked the diff fluid level...

He let a buddy drive it a few years ago and said buddy put a big dent in it.

Said buddy never paid him back.

Dork let him get away, too...

cramer, your black Dodge Diesel still have that "loss of power" problem?

Had to sell mine, wasn't using it for what it's for.

Then I got laid off.

Oh, well.

Have you checked for insufficient fuel line diameter from the tank?

Read on one of the hop-up boards that the fuel line size is marginal, and they had to increase it when they upped the power.

Tried installing a pyrometer and boost guage to see what's going on in there?

At least yours wasn't PROGRAMMED to be slow...

Mine was.

"Emissions recall, mandatory or you lose your 100,000 mile engine warranty."

Lost 2mpg and all the torque under 1800rpm.

Sucked having to redline it (3800rpm in the 24-valvers!) to get into the next gear when FLAT TOWING a stock FJ-40 up the hills to the BHCC.

Oh well, it's gone now.

Only put 75,000 on it.

Wanted to run it much more than that...

My 'Cruiser has almost 200,000 on it.

Maybe I'll get it running again this winter in my brother's new "extra" 2-car garage.

Maybe there'll be enough steel left on it to weld some patches to.

Maybe not.

Will find out within the week.

Dad wants it out of his garage.

I think he's scared the rust is contagious.

And it looks bad next to his new beemer.

Guess I shouldn't tell him that it once fell off the hi-lift jack and nearly squashed his mercedes...

I don't think he'd like that.

Startled the crap out of me.

Had to use the floor jack and whatnot-all to get it back up and over and onto some jackstands.

Guess the base of a hi-lift isn't wide enough when you want to lift up a few feet.

Finally figured out to use the engine hoist to lift it back up.

That worked pretty well.

It being on wheels helped me move it back over away from the mercedes.

BTW, the mercedes is that M-class thing.

Has car handling.

This, unfortunately, is not a good thing.

It's a very tall car.

My girlfriend is so bored that she is biting me while I type this.

She wrote that, actually.

Ow.

Quit it.

Ow.

Quit it.

See that Simpsons' episode where Bart got his tattoo lasered off and his sister kept poking it?

Kind of like that.

Ow.

Quit it.

Can you tell I'm really bored?

Bet so.

Go see this.

It's boring but funny.

You find a lot of wierd things when you type "bored" into a search engine.

A moose once bit my sister.

No, really!

(insert rest of Monty Python credits here)

Okay, girlfriend taking over again. HE HE HE
(notice slightly more condensed) I'm goin to get him off of here now. (Praise to me!) Thanks for reading this far. I'm sure he appreciates it. Bye now!

Well, that was her again.

Hmm.

Maybe I should get off now.

Heh.

Maybe she'll even help.

Ow.

Quit it.

Okaaay, now she's banging her head into my shoulder...

I don't think I'm too bored now...

Darn, my Dead Kennedy's CD ended.

Ow.

Quit it.

(The head-butt thing...)

Bye for now.

Will, of all people, you should never, EVER double space your messages.

I'd drink more, but my gf is allergic to alcohol, so we don't go to bars much. (No, not intolerant, not religiously against, not "doesn't like the taste", actually physically allergic. Even the tiny bit in cough syrup will make her heave. Niether one of us wants to get caught up in the pot scene, either...) Wouldn't mind going to a bar for a few if I knew some people there. Never liked going alone, even if I wasn't looking to pick up a chick. Have almost a full liter of Jim Beam Black Label here, but I get so sick of this apartment I'd rather not get sick in it...

P.S. Pfaff, you're absolutely correct, I shouldn't double-space my posts. I was bored, though, and that helped some. Besides, it also visually reinforces the concept of just how bored I was, and I was looking forward to the reactions it would generate. cramer did tell me to log on and start a riot or several...

As Denis Leary said, smoking pot leads to construction. We'll know when you start bonging it up when you're driving the diesel-electric Land Cruiser made out of paper mache ('cause titanium's too expensive.)

You could always steel brass brake fittings to use as a pipe. Just check for screens in public restrooms. If you find one you're in luck.
