Okay, so I've secured the website, created the website, but now I need to put the site up on the internet.
I need a web host, correct?
I notice that you go with StartLogic, Klaus, is that a pretty good deal? $7.50 a month for everything? Or is there a step I'm missing?
Anyone have any experience with hosting companies?
Advise!

Cool.
Will I need a server? Or do I just upload everything to them?

You will upload everything via FTP to them. I believe there is a copy of wsftp pro on the ftp for this site still if you want it The way I update is to have a complete copy of my site on my harddrive. I update something and then upload it to the site so you always have a spare copy and everything is the same. Let me know what software your using to build/manage your site You want to make sure that whatever code your using is supported (mySQL for DB stuff, ASP, PHP, etc. Some servers only support certain coding. We are on the PHP supported servers as I use PHP server side includes for this site.

Let me be more clear. Your really renting webspace on their server so you are uploading your site into your folder on their server. The DNS for your site points to that directory. There is a very nice menu/navigation system built in so you can manage some functionality but FTP is definately the way to go as far as managing/updating. They also include webstats and things like bulleting boards (phpnuke) and a free very nice photo gallery tool.
