I just heard from someone that the producers of SNL intentionally played the wrong tape to fuck her up because she was being a bitch during rehersal. Very amusing.

Definetly true that she is riding her sister's fame but I don't know If I would go as far as saying that Jessica Simpson has all that much "talent". She may have a decent singing voice and looks (not in my opinion) but dancing (and singing) to a certain extent can all be taught. None of these little pop tarts and boy band bozos actually write any of their own stuff. And in my opinion singing other peoples stuff is not musical talent.

I don't know about her originals, but I've defifnitely heard her absolutely butcher two cover songs. She hides her limited vocal range by changing high notes into some sort os jazz-scat crap.
I'll second the shovel to the head (after which of course said head, while still warm could be used for fellatio). 'Nuff said.

Her voice is average. Her songs are not written by her and that cover of "take my breath away" is annoying as shit. Why mess with a classic song that isn't even that old anyway.
Otherwise, I have not been exposed to much of her music except what is shown on the Newlyweds.

Ashlee Simpson's Orange Bowl halftime performance ended with the screeching line, "You make me want to scream," but all the crowd wanted to do was boo.
Simpson's performance topped off a halftime act that featured American Idol Kelly Clarkson, country star Trace Atkins and a host of technical problems.
Simpson, the act's finale, fell flat in front of the 72,000-plus Orange Bowl crowd. The camera zoomed in on Simpson's face just as the boos started raining down then quickly cut away.
Orange Bowl representatives said they were pleased with Simpson's performance and feel the booing was just backlash from her
