CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Three people are in a hospital after a collision on a North Carolina highway -- between a car and a boat.
North Carolina state troopers say three people, two males and a female, were in a boat on Lake Norman early Thursday morning when it hit an embankment, went airborne, hit two cars on Interstate 77 and landed in the median.
Two of the three people in the boat are listed in critical condition. No one in the car was hurt. Police told WSOC-TV in Charlotte that the boaters' injuries are serious, but not life-threatening.
Troopers say charges are pending.
