I guess you can dowload it for free, and play on a free server...
I've never played it, but with the sequel coming out, maybe I/we should check it out.

You only get 30 days free on this trial. Let me know if you want to try it and I'll download it and try it with you. I still have an active Asheron's Call account which I play occasionally. They opened up a new server this month so everyone who plays on it had to start from scratch. As far as content, AC is a lot better than Everquest being that for the last 4 years, they have had monthly upgrades to story lines, quests, events, monsters, and items. It really is a fun game.

nope, AC 1 has always been the better content game. AC 2 had the nicer graphics engine but the game was just okay. AC 1 is actually getting a graphics update in a couple months. The content and playability is what makes it superior to some of the other games out there. They are making a big push to get new people to try it out. That is why they started a new server so there wouldn't be a million people that are high level.
