Well it is official. My samurai has been sold. And oddly enough it fetched more than my pathfinder did. Sold for 4000$ plus for the past month I have been selling spare parts on ebay and made over 600$.

Yep E-bay. I auctioned it twice. 1st time I set the reserve at 4400 and the buy it now at 5k.
I revealed the reserve price about 3 days before the auction end and everyone stopped bidding for the most part but there was about 65 people watching the auction.
2nd time I listed it (you get a free relist as long as you sell it the 2nd time) I set the buy it now at 4k and the reserve at 3500. It took less than 24hrs for someone to use the buy it now option.
Mike, If you plan to sell your truck on ebay start it at 100$ set a buy it now for what you would like to get for the truck high end and set the reserve at what you will take (obviously) BUT DO NOT REVEAL YOUR BUY IT NOW PRICE unless responding to a single bidders e-mail. It freezes the bidders and prevents a bidding war that will get you a crap load of money. If people don't know the reserve they will bid just to find out what it is and usually more than they would be willing to pay for it with no reserve (for some reason they dont email to find out the buy it now price). But the people that e-mail to ask the reserve do not do this if you don't tell them the resere they just wont bid.

Good for you Chad. You got the same for your car as I got for mine (and it was a 1999). Downpoint is that mine was a pontiac with nothing special. The Samurai had a quite a few upgrades. Did you feel you got the value of what you put into it?

You almost never get the what you paid for upgrades on a 4x4 or even a sportscar. He did get what he wanted to get which is awesome...

Over the years I have probably invested almost 10k into that truck. But some stuff was changed or upgraded twice. Thus there was maybe 7-8k in upgrades. Upgrades to vehicles is not an investment by any means and modifying vehicles can often reduce thier value as people like stuff that is bone stock.
I got what I was hoping to get and what it was worth to me to sell it for.
