I saw it last night. I thought it was awesome. Very comic book/superhero and kinda has a Kill Bill feel to it a little bit with the blood scenes.

This movie is GREAT! Very gory and violent.

4 out of 5 stars.

Sadly, I can't agree...

It wasn't a bad movie, it just wasn't as great as it should've been.

The 4 stories were fairly predictable, the acting was a little dry (which bothered me considering the incredible cast), the effects were really amazing (they nailed the look and feel of the comic), but the OVERUSE of blood and gore felt like it took away from the movie.

Yes, this was definitely a fanboy movie (were there any women not naked and/or scantily clad?), and anyone who read the comics will say that I obviously don't "get it", but I have no problem with violence...I just got bored with it in this flick.

All in all it had some terrific characters (Mickey Rourke and Miho were personal favorites) but as a whole they weren't able to hold the movie together...

I left the movie exhausted, rather than pumped up. It was just an assault on the senses...each scene outdoing the last. After the 2nd story I was ready for it to be done.

And I had such high expectations too... [Frown]

2 out of 5 [weep]

It doesn't get any more serious than a Rhinocerus about to charge your ass.

Well it was a silly comic book movie for sure. So some of the acting can be blamed on that. It felt a lot like Max Payne. I liked it overall but thought it was a bit forced and left some loose ends.

3/5
