Derrick Johnson LB out of Texas, If you have seen any film on this guy, He is the Deffensive solution for the Vikes. If they fail to draft him may god have mercy on their souls.

I'm encouraged by it.
There are 2 spectacular wide receivers available.
One out of USC and one out of Michigan I believe.
We draft one of them we basically get a good rookie wide receiver, a free decent STARTING linebacker, a SECOND first round draft pick (Vikes have what, number 21?) and another 7th round pick.
Do the Raiders have a great QB to chuck it up there for Moss? Do they have an O-line to protect to give Moss the time to get open?
I don't think it's a bad deal at all.
But we'll soon see...

Couple of things.
Kerry Collins throws a better long ball than Culpepper does so that makes Moss happy.
Their O-line is much better after drafting Gallery last year.
We more than likely will try and nab one of the top tier free agents before drafting a receiver. (Burress, mason, muhammed, bruce, etc.)
Dont be suprised if Red doesnt trade that pick for a player. It will cost something like 43 Million to sign the 7th pick and you know how much Red likes to spend I think they should take a defensive player with that pick. They should be able to get one of the top 3 defensive players with that pick as a couple QB's, one RB, and one of the receivers should be off the board in front of them. Rolle the CB out of miami may still be available at the 18th pick. Here are the top 5 defensive players.
Adam jones CB west virginia Dan Cody DE Oklahoma Marcus spears DE LSU Travis Johnson DT Florida State Derrick Johnson OLB Texas
I think the Vikings did okay with the trade but should have tried to get someone other than Harris. We have two linebackers that are very similar to him and could have used someone like phil buchanon instead... [ 02-24-2005, 07:54: Message edited by: Hauserdaddy ]

Don't misinterpret him throwing a nice long ball into him doing anything else well

What I miss is a dominating DT that will get sacks and pressure a QB. That's what the Vikes used to be all about...

Agreed. The stats dont lie.
No team has ever even made it to the super bowl without a top ten defense... No team has won without a top 5 defense.
The two most productive QB's (statswise) in the league last year were culpepper and manning and they both dont even make it past the second round of the playoffs.

I really don't think Moss will ever get his speed back from his hamstring injury. Because of that he will never be the receiver he once was. I completely agree with the decision to trade him away and go after some really strong defensive players.
