Well Steve and I finally went out and bought a DVD burner yesterday. In a few days I should be able to make stand alone player readable DVD's. The cost of the media is still about $1.50-$2.00 a disc but that's coming down quicky. I made a couple "back up" copies of some DVD's I own last night - worked great. I am currently working on putting all the video from South Dakota 2001 on one DVD (it's tricky because it's 3 hours long).

If anyone is interested in getting a DVD burner - they are really coming down in price. This one at Best Buy is only $159 and it does all the formats at 4X (15 minutes to burn 4.7gig)....

We talked about this the other night - I just wanted to post the model of the best DVD burner currently on the market. It's the Pioneer a06 $168 on newegg and about the same at Best Buy. VERY good drive will burn on even the cheapest of media. My Sony is a great drive it just prefers the $2 disks over the .50 disks.
