I installed one (NewsGator) that snaps right in to your Outlook.
This is a great concept.
Rather than going out to a Website every couple hours to check for new pages, articles, etc. These RSS & XML things send a notification to you (looks like an email with an auto-preview enabled). You read the headline, if you want to read the full article you click the link, if not you just delete it.
I am subscribed to about 15 right now (CNET news, PCWorld new products, PC World top downloads, Slashdot, Slashdot Games, Washington Post, NY Times, etc etc)
This is HUGE for viewing people's blogs apparently...only one window open rather than filtering through hundreds of posts...
Klaus, you haven't heard of this?
I wonder if you can put the Noncompliance forums into some kind of XML or RSS format, and we subscribe to it...hmmmmm....

I have heard of what you are referring to, but haven't tried it. UBB classic (the software this board runs on) does do some converting to RSS (content islands) but I am not sure about the subscribing features. I will check into it and search a few forums.
I am always happy to have help from you guys with respects to this stuff. Between all the talent we have that uses this board/site we should be able to build whatever we like. Steve asked me to keep the website simple a year ago (when I re-did the site). I have always wanted to design a site that brings together all the things we use on a daily basis - ie. news, other forums news, current topics on the forum, photo albums etc. Steve rarely even logs on anymore (pays the bill tho) so I doubt he would care what redesigning we did. Hauser you are the web site wiz - what can we do? Boon - what are your plans for your sites? Maybe we could have a joint forum and share some content etc.
