Okay, so for the last 6 weeks I've been sending a weekly I/T tip out to our users. It's been a screaming success, and a great way to get users to perform some basic maintenance on their PC's, and to make these users a little more tech savvy...

Anyway, I'm running out of ideas, and could use some help.

So far I've done basic things like disk cleanup, scan disk, disk defrag, and how to run a manual virus scan.

What other basic computer tools are there that help performance? (Windows 2000 and Windows 98 for O/S's)

Thanks!

Did one for our newsletter about windows key shortcuts.... People really liked those. Consult windows help for a complete list but my favs are:

windows key + m = min. all windows (show desktop)
windows key + l = go to logon screen (lock terminal)

Other shortcuts I included were like ctrl enter while typing in a web address to add the www and .com - ppl really like that one.

I have a bunch of old Tip of the Day emails saved that are primarily for Win98 and IE 5. Post you email address in the Private section and I'll forward them to you if you like, then you can pick among them.

I posted this on Kanker, maybe you guys can help too...

-------------

I saw an AOL TV Commercial last night while watching "Rescue Me" that I need to get, download and post for my users (as it actually pertains to something work related).

The commercial was for AOL's anti-spam technology, it was basically a fat dude in front of his computer and the voice over says something like, "This is Bob. He's been hit with every computer virus ever known" and then the fat guy goes, "Hey, I have a secret admirer in the Netherlands" clicks his mouse, the screen shows an evil "virus" screen and he screams. It does this three times and then it advertised AOL's anti-spam technology.

Anyway, first of all, I hate AOL, but the commercial works for a project at work. I send out a tip every week to our company, and this week's tip is about "phishing", hoax emails, etc. Soooo...I was going to have a link to this video on our intranet (edited to remove the AOL shit) and they could get a good laugh and it would tie in.

Anyway, I can't find the damn thing!

I have been searching like mad for AOL commercials and can't find the file to download, so I figured I'd ask you guys.

Can anyone find this for me?

Thanks!
