I just got my P4 2 gig cpu and board. I slaped it into a new case that is p4 ready and added a 256MB stick of PC2100 DDR. Now it wont even power up.... any clues. any help would be much appreciated.

Pull everything excpet once stick of RAM, video card and processor. If it still won't post - recheck all connections especially the power to MB and the power switch. Flip the power switch connector over and try that. If you get no power - try a different power supply.. I once had a power supply that only worked with Pentium and I had an AMD.

This is a p4 ready case and ps out of the box. the ps isn't even humming. there is only one stick of ram in the case. call me if you get time.

Do you even get to POST? Does the computer beep, keyboard flash or is it just dead? If it is dead then it may very well be your power supply or motherboard. Generally your motherboard will have an LED or two on it. If power is getting to it they will light up. Is the fan for your processor plugged into the correct pin slot on the board? A lot of times there is a safety on the board so that if your cpu fan isnt connected correctly it won't boot. More info please [Big Grin]
