Klaus, likely you can shed light on this. When I boot and the ASUS does it's memroy check, it states it's 166MHz and in single channel mode Shouldn't it state dual channel mode? I haven't tweaked the BIOS to OC the memory, but I thought at default it should detect it as dual?

I don't know exactly how your board is set up but mine is set up as follows:
3 Memory slots (2 slots are considered channel 1 and 1 slot is considered channel 2)
In order to get Dual channel mode you must have the same amount of memory in each "channel". I started out with two sticks of 256M in each channel. At first I had them in the two slots that were both for channel 1 and I got single channel mode at start up. I moved them around and then I got dual channel mode. Finally, I bought an additional 512m stick and put that in channel 2 and both 256m sticks in channel 1. They just need to be equal for it to work.

Ahh, I see. Thanks, I doubt I'll get more memory as I have two sticks of 512. I just wanted to ensure I wasn't shorting myself...

Just make sure one of each of the sticks is in it's own channel. Just move them around until it boots with dual channel mode.
