Version 56.xx Forceware drivers are out now. They have a cool new feature: individual settings for each game (a boon for those of us who play Halo, but like to set AA for other games). The downside is I've LOST a little performance according to the Aquamark 3 benchmark (about 1/2 FPS).

I have a GeForce 3 TI200 and tried out this driver. It decreaced my FPS SIGNIFICANTLY. So, its sitting in my recycling bin now.

At this point, unless you really want the ability to have AA/AF settings varied for different games (I do), stick with the 53.03 drivers as their performance is a little better.

I haven't had any problems with the new drivers yet. I am getting some "hitches" in BFV but I think it's the game. Strange because it comes and goes (by server I think).
And yes for games like Halo the ability to turn AA on and off is a must.

Yeah, that card isn't going to like any of the newer drivers. One of the extra computers in my basement has a GF3 Ti500 and it only runs good with like the 44.03 series drivers (before DX9 support). Same with my GF4 4200 - it dosen't like the new drivers.

Im currently running the 53.03 driver on my computer for my GeForce 3 TI200, and it works very well. No problems and fast FPS (around 60 on most games).

I tried these new drivers and had bad texturing problems in a number of 3d games. It seems to pixelate the textures that have other textures hidden behind them. It looks horrible. Big blocky pixelation.
I reverted back to 53.03 and found that fixed the problem.
Anyone have a link that explains all the AA AF etc... settings in deeper technical terms than just "set to 'blank unless you have problems". [ 03-30-2004, 12:07: Message edited by: Chadwick ]

Bare bones descriptions AA: Smooths-out jagged lines, the "stair-step" look. AF: Improves distance blur, i.e. if you take a screenshot to look at, you will notice that the further away you get tends to fade to a blur, this increases the distance before textures lose their definition.
I try and run most games at 2XQ AA and 2X AF. If that doesn't perform well, I drop the AF first as I notice it the least, whereas the "jaggies" bug me.

I just bought an XFX GForce FX 5700 Ultra card and installed it. I am getting a low voltage warning and it is running slower than shit.
It is an AGP 8x card but my board is only 4x compatable. I thought that it would just run at 4x which is no problem.
But it runs about 80% slower than my FX 5600 card did (which was a 4x card). It is really starting to get on my nerves.
I would prefer not to have to upgrade my board an chip right now. And i do not think it is running how it should even on my AGP 4x board.
Any ideas?

Did you plug in the power adaptor? I am pretty sure that card needs a seperate plug from the power supply.
Otherwise, check the BIOS settings. Goto the XFX forums and look for what setting people are using for their BIOS.

Nice that they put (didn't) put that little tidbit in the install instructions.
It did need a separate power supply.
