Thought I would post a quick review on this. Tried it for about 2 hours last night - my first impression was: I like it. It's a 10 button cordless joystick with a pretty decent design. The Logitech software comes with a profile editor to customize how the keys work in whatever game you launch. I can't really understand why you wouldn't just set up the buttons within each game and not in the profile editor. I had to uninstall it anyway to get it to work in XP anyway.

Positives
Positions of buttons 1-5 on the top of the stick are perfect. Button 2 is right in the indent where your thumb sits. It's so convenient I kept finding myself moving my thumb to the top buttons like on the wingman and forgetting that my thumb was actually resting on the button. I like having 4 other buttons on the top for views in 1942 and eject/parashoot.

Cordless is nice and I found no lag. I like putting the joystick away without having to deal with the cord.

Footprint is nice. Triangular in shape with rubber on the three corners.

Negatives
Buttons 6-10 are small and close together on the left side of the base of the stick. I found it hard to push the right one without looking.

The joystick turns itself off if you don't use it for 2 minutes. To turn it back on you have to push any button. Not a big deal but in 1942 it takes a bit of getting used to. I do miss jumping into a plane and having it go to full throttle right away - now I have to hit a button and then it goes....

Throttle is decent although I prefer it on the left of the base instead of behind the stick.

Software sucks.

Overall I give it a 8 of 10.

Did you figure anything out with the pull? Its second nature for me to grab the joystick as I'm running to a aircraft and move it in a few quick circles, fly's straight'n'level then.

I think my issue is the same as you describe. Starts out turning but after I move the stick it centers and is fine after that. Only difference it that it does it everytime I get into vehicle not just the first time.

I will get used to it.

I've shot down 3 of my teammates helicoptors in BFV by jumping into the F-4 and clicking FIRE to enable the joystick...

and launching a heatseeker up the helicopter's ass. [Wink]

I know where the "SORRY!" button is!

Hahaha

I love this controller...
