I ordered one of these up last week for around $350. Got in on Friday and played with it all weekend. So far I am quite impressed with the picture quality. The native resolution is 1680x1050. My 6800GT runs that resolution no problem. Wow and CSS support 1680*1050 but BFII dosen't. I had to find a work around and change the perspective but now it looks great.

If I look really hard I do see slight motion blur in Wow if I really spin around fast. It's a 12ms LCD so response time really isn't an issue. Black levels are decent - but with any LCD you aren't going to get perfect blacks. 600:1 contrast is nice. I understand this is the same screen used in the apple screens that are 3 times as expensive.

Widesceen gaming is the shit. I now have plenty of room to put my extra tool bars in Wow.

Other features on this model include:
90 degree rotation for looooong word docs.
Picture in Picture if you have multiple inputs.
DVI, Svideo, Composite, and VGA inputs.
Optional speakers that mount under the screen.

Where the heck did you get one for 350$!?! I have been watching the prices on this exact monitor for months and have not seen them near that low.

I want it becase they are just a larger version of the dual 19" screens we bough 6 of at work here. I love them.

Can you tell me a little more about these speakers that can mount under it? Do they look they are "good" speakers?? This might be a great alternative for me until I can afford my 50" TV!! (then retire it for my own monitor).

Also, do they make the cables that you hook the monitor into the computer with in extra long lengths? So that I could have my laptop across the room a ways and the monitor right in front of the client? About 10 feel about. (same with the speaker cable I guess!)

You can get longer cable lengths but I don't think you want to go over 10-12 ft.

You can mount it on a wall - it has standard wall mounting holes on it.

The speakers I don't know much about. I will see if I can find pictures on the web of them. I am not sure if they attach to the base or the bottom of the screen. I am sure they aren't super high quality - the only cost like $50.

They also make a 24 inch version of this monitor but it's closer to $900 so probably not worth it.

What are your thoughts on a refurbished one?? They have a couple hundred of them, and they are $448. I thought that was a decent price.

You can get a new one for $380.

The only problem with LCD monitors is "dead pixels". Some people send back their monitors if they notice even one dead pixel (usually white or black). The refurbs are probably monitors that have been sent back. So becareful. Have you found the correct coupon codes to get the monitor for $380?

I have had VERY bad results with refurbished ones. We had to send one back due to vertical blurry striping and they mistakenly sent out a refirbished one to replace it. The colors were horrible. We finally got a new replacement. There was one other one we send back due to bad color. These things are realy nice but some of them just have realy bad colors from the factory. Even if they refurbish them it will not fix the problems.

Only code I could find that is active is:

$60 off $500 Code: TNQ79??P84STSM

Makes it like $460

Early versions of this monitor had a lot problems with dead pixels and blanking out. New from Dell is the only way to go.

Scott, how long did it take to get yours?? I ordered mine on the 10th and it says it won't be here until about the 31st. I've never had anything take that long from Dell, so was just curious!!

I ordered mine and it said it would take 15 days to ship. However, the next day it shipped out. So I am not sure what the "estimated ship date" is.
