I didn't see a lot of these so it's just guess work for the most part. I think Avatar is clear for Best Picture just because it kind of redefined the movie-going experience and essentially became more than a movie.

I can't see Cameron winning for director though. One of the most important things a director can do is motivate/direct their talent, and there weren't any actor performances in Avatar that were above average imo.

The only lock I see though is Christoph Waltz for Inglourious Basterds. If he doesn't win white people everywhere should riot, even though all his competition is white.

Edit: It appears The Hangover wasn't actually nominated:( Here is the list:

I'd like Tarantino to win but he won't, it'll either be Cameron or Bigelow.

I'd like Jeremy Renner to win, but it's either going to be Bridges or Clooney.

Bullock is a reach, but she's won the others so she'll probably take this home, and because of that, the "Precious" supporting actress will win.

Waltz was incredible in Basterds, and I think there's no doubt.

What about all the other awards? Am I the only one interested in the writing & technical awards?

Biggest robbery of the night imo was The Hurt Locker winning Best Original Screenplay over Inglourious Basterds. Basterds had the best dialogue in any movie all year and perfectly intertwined multiple stories.

The Hurt Locker was decent but I think the weakest part of that movie was the script. What made that movie was the tension the director built and the actors. The script doesn't say (build tension now!).

All i can say is FUCK!!!!!!! the overrated piece of crap that they call the hurt locker.

How did it win 6 awards, it was a good movie but best screenplay? seriously the dialogue is what ruined that movie. The character interaction was horrendous. Oh hey let's punch each other to fill 15mins of movie this cunt director couldn't fill with solid plot!!! Go to hell hurt locker!!!

Edit: Oh my god after watching that video Waltz may be the best actor ever!

well, that was to enhance the power of the word fuck, and draw from the attention Kathryn Bigelow is receiving for being a cunt.
