Here is a Quad that's getting closer to something I would be into purchasing. Pre assembled but you need to add a camera and there is no video uplink.

We have come a long way in the last three years. I really like the DJI Mavic and the GoPro Karma for different reasons. The Karma comes with the hand held gimbal and can be used with a Hero 4 or Hero 5. The Mavic is portable and that would be so nice for hiking and anywhere you can't bring a large drone. The best part of the two announcements is finally some competition. The only feature I really want is something lower priced.

I can't get the time code working on the below videos - FF to about 1/2 on each for actual flying.

That looks pretty sweet, and will probably be the one that makes me pull the trigger (once there are sales and refurbs avail).. That one would be small enough and to take out for field work with me, and even rafting trips, to scout and look at stuff you might not otherwise be able to easily investigate..

I still think the Mavic Pro is a better deal. The remote is better and it'a about the same size folded. I was worried about the size of the Pro while flying but it holds it's own in strong winds. Not sure how good the Air will do.
